About
With over 40 years in enterprise risk management, insurance, and governance, I’ve been fortunate to work across sectors, from healthcare systems and global brokerages to universities and nonprofit boards. My work has always centered around helping people make more informed, thoughtful decisions in the face of uncertainty.
For more than a decade, I taught at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, where I served as Associate Professor and Academic Director for Strategic and Enterprise Risk Management. I developed and led courses in ERM, corporate governance, and alternative risk financing—and had the privilege of learning alongside talented students and colleagues around the world.
Today, as Emeritus Associate Professor, I continue this work through MMZ Consulting LLC. I consult, serve as an expert witness, and contribute as an independent board director. I’m especially interested in engaging with organizations that value principled leadership, strong oversight, and strategic thinking about risk.

Michael has the knowledge, skills, creativity, integrity and experience to be a very valuable resource and mentor to his students, the future leaders of the insurance industry.
